Meet Your Hosts!
Dr. Kate Sydney, ND, LAc
Kate is a licensed Acupuncturist and East Asian Medicine Practitioner who has spent over a decade helping people use herbs, food, and daily ritual to support their health - from digestion and hormonal balance to sleep and stress. She holds a doctorate in Naturopathic Medicine and a Master's in Acupuncture and Chinese Herbalism from NUNM in Portland, and brings that clinical knowledge into the garden, translating the healing properties of each plant into simple, practical ways you can use them at home. When she's not seeing patients, Kate can be found hiking around the PNW, baking with Chinese and Western herbs, and savoring a good cup of tea, so expect her to have plenty of favorite blends and remedies to share.
Sam Darling
Sam designs gardens that feel like a natural extension of the home: spaces built to create an experience and to nourish the people who tend them, not just the plants growing in them. With a Master's degree in Environmental Sustainability and a focus on regenerative, organic growing practices, she'll guide you through the "why" and “how” behind making your plants and garden thrive. As a licensed Oregon landscape construction contractor and certified Gardenary consultant, Sam loves helping people develop the confidence and green thumb to grow their own thriving kitchen gardens. She'll be your guide to potting, pruning, and caring for your herbs long after you take them home.
